Special assistance

    • Request special assistance

      Contact Air Dolomiti Sales Center if you want to:

      •    Arrange assistance at the airport during boarding, disembarking and/or transfer
      •    Bring your own (manual or electric) wheelchair and/or use a cabin wheelchair
      •    Bring special medical equipment 
      •    Bring your assistance dog into the cabin


      •    You need to request special assistance (and book your flight) at least 48 hours before departure
      •    You must check in at the airport at least half an hour before the recommended check-in time

    • Travellers with special needs

      On July 26th 2008 the EC Regulation No. 1107/2006 concerning the rights of disabled persons and persons with reduced mobility when travelling by air has become effective.
      The purpose of the regulation is to assure

      "[...] the protection of and provision of assistance to disabled persons and persons with reduced mobility travelling by air, both to protect them against discrimination and to ensure that they receive assistance." (art. 1).

      The basic concern of the regulation is to guarantee to disabled persons and persons with reduced mobility the equal participation in air transport.
      The prescriptions established by the regulation include the whole set of services required for all the activities concerning departure from, transit through and arrival at the airport.

      To take advantage of the services of assistance it will be necessary to make a notification of the need for assistance to the air carrier or it's agent or the tour operator concerned at least 48 hours before the published time of departure of the flight.

      Airports offer a wide range of assistance services to disabled persons and persons with reduced mobility. You will find useful information on the official website of the interested airport.

    • Travel Health

      Jet lag, earache or air sickness: we are here to help and ensure your journey goes as smoothly as possible, because your wellbeing during the flight is important for Air Dolomiti.

      Medical Assistance Form
      If you are suffering from certain illnesses (for example heart or lung conditions, ictus, etc.), are injured or suffer from any chronic pathology which could affect your wellbeing during the flight, you require prior approval to fly from the Air Dolomiti Medical Service.
      If you have any doubts about your health and whether it is safe for you to fly, either you or your doctor should ask Air Dolomiti for an assessment. Health checks and assessments must be completed and approved at least 48 hours before flight departure.

    • Wheelchairs

      Please contact us at the time of booking your flight if you wish to travel with your own wheelchair. This can be embarked directly at the check-in counter on the day of the flight, tagged and stored in the hold. Carriage is free of charge. Personal wheelchairs must fold flat; chairs powered by a liquid battery will not be accepted. The maximum size of wheelchair allowed is: 120 x 101 x 71 cm, and the weight must not exceed 80 kg.

      If necessary, we can provide free assistance to go from the check-in desk to the aircraft steps, to climb the aircraft steps or to reach a seat in the cabin. The wheelchair will be provided by the airport.
